Vestas receives 50MW Longyuan order

CHINA: Vestas has received an order from Longyuan Power50MW wind turbines for a project in south-east China’s Fujian province.

Vestas V90 2MW turbine is used on the project

The order consists of 25 units of V90-2.0MW turbines and includes installation and commissioning. Delivery is scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2012.

The turbines will be installed at Qiulu wind farm near Putian. Fujian Putian and the south-eastern coastal areas of China are characterised by having low average wind speeds with occasional strong gusts.

It is the first time Vestas is installing the V90-2.0MW turbines in Fujian province.

The first Vestas turbines installed in the province dates back to 2008. In 2011, Vestas won orders amounting to more than 100MW from Fujian province alone out of a total order intake of nearly 800MW for all of China.

When project has been installed, Vestas' total capacity in the province will be 450MW.
