Vestas wins third Finnish order in 12 months

FINLAND: Vestas has received a 30MW order from Finnish developer Tuuli Watti Oy, its third order in the Scandanavian country in 12 months.

Under the deal, Vestas will supply 10 V112 3MW turbine for a the project, which will be located in the Tervola municipality of Lapland. The contract includes a six-year service agreement.

Installation is scheduled for September 2012 with a view to bringing the project online by March 2013.

Last year, Tuuli Watti Oy bought 46MW of V112 turbines for projects in the Olhava near the Gulf of Bothnia and Lapland. The first deal, signed in June 2011, was described by Vestas as a breakthrough in the region.

Speaking about the deal, Klaus Steen Mortensen, President of Vestas Northern Europe said: "This order is a proof of the continuous expansion of wind power in Finland and provides benefits for local Finnish economies and local Finnish suppliers.

"It also shows the trust Vestas has received from TuuliWatti Oy for yet another V112 project, giving us a leading position in the Finnish market for renewable energy."
