Iberdrola signs deal for 82MW Polish project

POLAND: Polish energy group Tauron has signed a PLN 632 million (€143.6 million) contract with a consortium led by Spain’s Iberdrola Ingeniería to build a wind farm in Marszewo, Poland.

The facility will have a capacity of 82MW. Construction is to be completed in 20 months.

Marszewo is Tauron's third Polish wind project. The company operates a 30MW wind farm in Zagorze, and a 30.75MW facility in Lipinki.

To date, Iberdrola's subsidiary has been awarded contracts to build Polish wind farms with a combined 280MW capacity. Iberdrola also has 160.5MW of installed wind power in Poland.

This includes the 90MW Karscino plant, a 40.5MW facility in Kisielice, 18MW in Malbork, and a 12MW wind farm in Orzechowce. The company is also building 70MW in Korsze and 24MW in Bystra.
