The 69MW Kawailoa project will be located on the north shore of Oahu island. First Wind said the construction is set to begin next year.
Kawailoa will use 30 Siemens 2.3MW turbines. It is the manufacturer's first deal with First Wind and the first time it has installed turbines on Hawaii.
First Wind also owns the 30MW Kahuku wind farm on Hawaii. The project uses Clipper Windpower 2.5MW turbines.
According to the latest Windpower Monthly Windicator, Hawaii has a total wind capacity of 93MW.
