In an update on the process, Gamesa said Hartlepool, England and Leith, on the east coasts of England and Scotland respectively, continue to be evaluated.
Gamesa said: "Dundee can’t accommodate Gamesa’s foreseen offshore requirements in terms of timescales and scope in order to achieve the company’s overall business plan objectives regarding the manufacture of our G11X-5.0MW and G14X-7.0MW offshore wind turbines."
In October last year, Gamesa announced plans to invest €150 million in the launch of a global offshore division in the UK.
The company's UK plans included basing the global headquarters for its offshore business in London, the launch of an R&D centre, a factory and O&M service centres at different ports around the country.
