Vestas wins 48MW Chinese supply deal

CHINA: Vestas has received a 48MW order a project in Hainan province, an island off the coast of southern China.

The order is for 24 V90 2MW turbines. The turbines will be installed at Gaopai wind farm in Dongfang County, where the winds are in the medium to low range.

Vestas said it aimed to deliver the turbines by the end of the month.

China is Vestas' largest market after Spain. In March, the China Wind Energy Association said that by the end of 2010, Vestas had 2.9GW wind turbines installed in China making up 6.5% of its market. Vestas is the fourth largest manuafacturer, after Sinovel, Goldwind and Dongfang Electric.
