The update was announced by Mingyang chairman Zhang Chuanwei, who said the company was increasingly focused in growth in overseas markets over the next three to five years.
The two-bladed SCD 6MW turbine has a 140-metre rotor diameter and a top head mass of only 205 tonnes. A reduction in weight, compared to many turbines in the same range, is achieved by only having two blades.
In October, Mingyang Wind Power had obtained $5 billion dollars financial credit from China Development Bank to expand overseas and domestic sales.
Mingyang is targeting markets in Bulgaria, India, South Africa, and the United States as part of its overseas strategy.
