China WindPower signs $115 million deal with Sinovel and Goldwind

CHINA: China WindPower Group Limited, a Hong Kong listed wind farm developer, signed three contracts with Sinovel and Goldwind respectively for wind turbines, for CNY740 million ($115 million).

China WindPower signed two contracts with Sinovel for turbines for two 49.5MW wind farms in northeast China’s Jilin province. They are valued at CNY250 million respectively.

It also signed a contract with Goldwind to supply turbines for a 49.5MW wind farm in Chaoyang city, northeast China’s Liaoning province. It is worth CNY238 million.

In the first half of this year, China WindPower constructed five wind farms, totaling 246MW, in China. The total installed capacity amounted to 1.1GW in China by the end of June this year. It aims to construct 650MW wind farms in China in 2011.

Since 2010, the company had prioritised wind development in southern China.
