The man, working for contractor Fluor, was hurt while working at the top of the turbine and had to be airlifted from the nacelle.
It was initially believed the worker had broken his leg. However, it was confirmed he only had minor injuries.
The rescue was launched by an RAF Sea King helicopter after the coastguard was alerted.
A coastguard spokesman said: "They had to make sure that the blades were in a wide position and stopped. The helicopter winched him from the top of the turbine."
The number of fatalities per MW installed has continually fallen since 1980s and is now on a par with other electricity-generating industries.
