Offshore Wind Services orders two support vessels

UK: South Boats Special Projects is to build two 19-metre wind farm support vessels for Offshore Wind Services.

The two vessels are capable of 19 knots and are capable of accepting the Houlder TAS access system. They will be built at South Boats’ new facility in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight in the south of England and will be delivered in March and April 2012.

Offshore Wind Services is a joint venture between two Dutch companies, Workshop Contractors and Royal Doeksen. 

The vessels will be operated by UK partner Offshore Wind Power Marine Services of Conwy, North Wales and deployed to service Irish Sea wind farms on a contract basis.
