The turbines will be supplied for the Little Raith wind farm near Cowdenbeath in the county of Fife, Scotland.

Little Raith is the first commercial wind farm to be built in Fife, which is one of the more heavily populated parts of Scotland.

The 25MW wind farm operated by Kennedy Renewables should be operational in 2012.

"The deployment of GE’s 2.75MW wind turbine in Fife underscores GE’s commitment to provide our customers with technological solutions that are well suited for the Scottish climate" said Stephan Ritter, GE’s general manager for renewables in Europe. ??

GE says that the 2.75MW turbine is particularly suitable for windier locations.
