Additionally, the company’s wind and grid subsidiaries are to be known as Windtec Solutions and Gridtec Solutions.
AMSC said made the change in order to better reflect its range of services. It also has a new tag line: "Smarter, cleaner… better energy."
The change follows a tumultuous six months for the company following its break with largest customer Sinovel.
Sinovel’s refusal to accept a shipment of wind turbine components in April forced the company to cut staff and restate its Q1 and Q2 results.
The two companies are currently locked in a legal battle amid accusations of IP theft and broken contracts.
