The victory, albeit one that sees the Liberals return to office without an overall majority, will be viewed with relief by the wind industry.

Earlier this year, Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak had vowed to dismantle the province’s deal with Samsung to build factories and install wind farms.

There has also been concern the Conservatives would end the province's Fit scheme.

In the event the Liberals won 53 seats, a 17-seat loss. The Conservatives won 37 with the left wing New Democratic Party taking 17. The win give Liberal leader Dominic McGuinty a third term.
