The order is from a joint venture consisting of Arise Windpower and investment firm Platina Partners. The first phase of the project will be 129MW and will eventually be expanded to 198MW.
Vestas said the Jadraas project is set to be completed in November next year. A 15-year service agreement is included in the deal.
This is not the first V112 purchase in Scandanavia. In June, Vestas won its first Finnish order in recent years, an 18MW contract for six V112s from developer TuuliWatti Oy for a project in Lapland.
Speaking about the deal, Klaus Steen Mortensen, president of Vestas Northern Europe said: "This order is of great importance to us as this is the first major order in Sweden for Vestas’ V112-3.0 MW turbine, and we are delighted to be selected as supplier for this project.
"With this order, Arise Windpower AB and Platina Partners LLP allow us to present our largest onshore turbine on a significant Swedish project. We see this project as a stepping stone for the V112-3.0 MW turbine into the Swedish market."
