Infinity wins 20-year PPA for Kansas project

UNITED STATES: Infinity Wind Power has secured a 20-year power-purchase agreement with Sunflower Electric Power for its 104MW Shooting Star project in Kansas.

Infinity acquired the development rights for Shooting Star from Clipper Windpower in August. The project is set to come online by the end of 2012.

Sunflower said the project would provide revenue of around $10 million to local landowners over the duration of the project. A community fund has also been established alongside the project.

The contract was organised through the National Renewables Cooperative Organisation.
