The move follows the takeover of Clipper in December last year by United Technologies Corporation (UTC).
A spokesman for UTC subsidiary Pratt & Whitney Power Systems said the redundancies were spread across its Cedar Rapids assembly plant, head office at Carpinteria and Denver.
"Recently, the wind market in North America has reduced significantly and become price competitive requiring companies like Clipper Windpower to look for every opportunity to reduce cost. As a result, Clipper Windpower has reduced its workforce by 75 positions across the business.
"In light of this challenging environment, UTC and Pratt & Whitney Power Systems are actively engaged in several initiatives to reduce cost and enable investment in technologies to enhance Clipper Windpower’s competitive position in the marketplace."
Shortly before the UTC takeover, Clipper said there was "significant doubt of the company’s ability to continue as a going concern" if it was unable to secure the additional financing by 30 September.
