Anderson’s appointment comes as Iberdrola chairman Ignacio Galan said the company had £15 billion set aside for the development of project through to 2020. Anderson will continue to head up ScottishPower.
Speaking about his appointment, Anderson said: "It will be essential to achieve suitable regulatory frameworks that permit us to carry out the investment required to build a more reliable and environment-friendly sector."
Galan said: "We are delighted with this appointment because Keith Anderson has done an outstanding job at ScottishPower Renewables and his experience will be invaluable as we seek to further consolidate our presence in the UK."
