NA Power offers RECs to consumers and business

UNITED STATES: Energy retailer North American Power (NA Power) is giving customers the option to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates.

The option, dubbed American Wind, is available to both residential and business customers. Customers can also make money through referrals with commission will ranging from $5 to $17 per certificate.

Additionally, NA Power will donate $1 for each certificate to a selected charity — including Help for Haiti and Save the Children — each month.

Speaking about the deal, Kerry Breitbart, co-founder and CEO of NA Power, said: "From the start, we have been dedicated to offering our customers greater choice and the power to influence change.

"With American Wind, we are working to advance the green-energy movement and increase our country's energy independence by motivating individuals to initiate change."
