Gamesa wins 70MW Spanish order from Cobra

SPAIN: Gamesa has won a 70MW contract from Cobra Energia to supply turbines for two wind farms in Salamanca, western Spain.

The Banderas and Rodera Alta wind farms will be 36MW and 34MW respectively and are set to be commissioned by the end of the year.

Each project will use G90 2MW turbines, which are set to be delivered by the end of the third quarter.

Cobra has also handed Gamesa a five-year servicing contract as part of the deal.

Gamesa has had a tough time in its home market over the last year. In its Q1 results the company announced a 24% sales increase for the first quarter, with all of these sales coming from outside of Spain.
