First Wind signs PPA with NB Power for Maine project

UNITED STATES: First Wind has signed a PPA with New Brunswick Power (NB) for its 42MW Mars Hill project in Maine.

The PPA is for four years. It replaces the existing arrangement whereupon the power was sold to NB, before being passed onto ISO-New England and finally the customer.

Under the new arrangement, NB will supply the electricity directly

The deal the decision to allow NB to provide standard offer service to customers in northern Maine.

First Wind operates three projects in Maine with a combined capacity of 125MW. The developer is also set to bring online the 60MW Rollins Hill project near Lincoln.
