Transmission Capital Partners will operate the £65 million link from the 180MW Robin Rigg wind farm in Scottish waters for 20 years.

In August, it won the bid for the link as part of Ofgem’s first round of tenders for seven projects totalling 2GW.

The tender was won by Transmission Capital partners, Macquarie Capital and Balfour Beatty Capital.

Ofgem said it expects to grant licences to the remaining first round projects over the next year.

It launched the second tender in November, for three projects totalling 2.8GW.

The tender is expected to be resolved by the second quarter of 2011 and consists of links to the Gwynt-y-Mor, Lincs and London Array offshore projects.
