The project will be located in the state of Grande do Norte in the north east of the country.
Siemens said it is anticipating further orders and is evaluating options to increase its activity in the country, with the possibility of building manufacturing facilities.
It would be following in the footsteps of GE and Gamesa, who have both recently announced plans to launch R&D facilities in the region.
Brazil held two alternative energy auctions in August, including 70 wind projects with a total capacity of 2.05GW.
Wind made up the largest share of contracts, ahead of small hydroelectric and biomass projects.
The average price for wind at the auctions, at BRL 131/MWh ($75/MWh), was down almost 12 per cent compared to the previous wind energy auction in December 2009.
A number of major manufacturers have received orders for projects in Brazil following the tender, with many in the same region.
Last week, Suzlon won an order from Martifer Renováveis to set up a 218MW project across the states of Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte. It will supply 104 S88-2.1MW turbines, to be commissioned in phases by June 2012.
