UNITED STATES: Gamesa has been awarded a contract to supply 10MW for a wind farm in Arizona being developed by Western Wind Energy Corporation.

The wind farm in Kingman, Arizona, is being developed for the Arizona-based utility UniSource Electric.

It will consist of five G90-2.0MW turbines. Gamesa will oversee the installation of the turbines, which is planned for April 2011.

This is the second contract Gamesa has signed with Western Wind Energy in the last month. It will supply 120MW for the Windstar project at the Tehachapi Pass, southern California.

According to the latest Windpower Monthly Windicator, Arizona has a total installed capacity of 63MW.
