The deal is for 258 SWT-2.3-101 units for the Laurel, Rolling Hills and Pomeroy wind projects.
Delivery is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2011 and be completed by early 2012. The deal also includes a service agreement.
The turbines will be produced in Siemens’ factories at Fort Madison, Iowa, and Hutchinson, Kansas. The nacelle assembly facility in Hutchinson was opened in December, for Siemens’ 2.3MW and 3MW turbines.
In May, Siemens received its biggest US onshore contract, for 343MW for the Snake River wind project in Washington.
It also won a contract in April to supply turbines for the 460MW Cape Wind project, the US’s first offshore wind farm.
