Oaxaca is a popular area for wind developers. Its location, a natural funnel formed by two mountain ranges, brings strong and reliable winds to the area for more than half of the year.
According to the Mexican Wind Power Association (AMDEE), Oaxaca has more than 500MW in place, around 550MW in construction and nearly 1.5GW on the drawing board.
