Nordex wins 45MW Turkish order

TURKEY: Nordex has secured an order in Turkey, to supply 18 of its 2.5MW turbines to a wind power project at Sursuluk in the western province of Balikesir.

The project is owned by Iltek Iletsim, the energy subsidiary of diversified conglomerate Eksim Holding. Eksim holds seven wind licenses with a combined capacity of 247MW.

Susurluk will be its first operating plant when it comes online early next year. Nordex estimates the plant will generate around 145GWh a year, with a capacity factor of approximately 38%.

This is the second Turkish order Nordex has won in recent weeks. In October, it was awarded a contract to supply 60MW to two projects in western Turkey.

Out of the deal, 18 2.5MW turbines are destined for a 45MW project near Akhisar in the rovince of Manisa, while another six will form an extension to Dost Enerji's 42.5MW Yuntdag plant near Aliaga.
