Acciona begins third Indian project

INDIA: Acciona has started work on its third Indian wind farm, a 56MW project located in the southwestern state of Karnataka.

The Tuppadahalli project will increase Acciona's capacity in India to 85.8MW and takes its total number of wind farms in the country to three. Tuppadahalli will use 34 of Vestas' V82 1.65MW turbines.

The company's other two Indian wind farms are also located in Karnataka. The 13.2MW Arasinagundi and 16.5MW Anaburu developments were launched in 2007 and 2008 respectively.

Acciona is the first Spanish wind developer to own projects in India.
