Alstom wins 24MW Turkish contract

TURKEY: Alstom has won a deal from Eolis Wind Energy Generation to supply 24MW for a new project planned for Turkey.

Alstom will supply eight ECO100 3MW turbines for the Senkoy wind farm, which will be located near Hatay, southern Turkey. The contract includes a 5-year maintenance agreement.

The wind farm is expected to come online in late 2011 and is Alstom’s first project in the country.

According to Windpower Monthly’s Market Status report on the global wind industry, Turkey doubled its installed wind capacity in 2009 to reach 807MW at the end of 2009, adding 424MW to the existing 383MW.
