CHINA: Suzlon is planning to open a research and development centre in China as part of its aim to increase operations in the country.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Suzlon chairman Tulsi Tanti said the company is planning to increase its exports from China.

Tanti also said the company had signed its first major export order for its Chinese operations. It has received an order for 120MW from an unnamed developer for a wind farm planned for Brazil.

Additionally Tanti said its subsidiary Repower was looking at setting up a joint venture with a Chinese manufacturer to develop offshore wind turbines.
