The Cerro de Hula wind farm will use 51 G87 2MW turbines while the contract includes a two-year maintenance contract.
The project is expected to be completed in 18 months and has a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Empresa Nacional de Energia Electrica. The PPA has been financed by the US Export-Import Bank and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.
Gamesa owns 76% of the project and, in addition to supplying the turbines, will be responsible for delivery and construction. Iberdrola will handle the export of the electricity and the wind farms infrastructure.
