Wind Wire: Wind delivers bumper output

DENMARK: With winds in April blowing 10% more than usual for the month, Denmark's 5,078 wind turbines produced 632GWh, enough to meet 23.3% of Danish electricity consumption, reports journal Naturlig Energi.

Over the past 12 months, wind power generation in Denmark has delivered 57.2% of the carbon dioxide emissions reduction the country is currently committed to achieving under European law, preventing the burning of 2.6 million tonnes of coal and the emission of 6.2 million tonnes of CO2.
