Enel brings second wind farm online

BULGARIA: The renewable energy division of Italian utility Enel has doubled its installed wind capacity in Bulgaria, bringing online in May a 21MW wind farm based in Shabla in the north-east of the country.

Last October, Enel Green Power brought its first Bulgarian wind farm online, a 21MW facility in Kamen Briag, also in the north-east. Both the Shabla and Kamen Briag developments had been acquired in 2008 from the Bulgarian subsidiary of Danish wind developer Global Wind Power. Both wind farms are composed of seven 3MW turbines from Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas.
