Pathfinder hands GE 2.1GW Wyoming deal

US: GE has been handed a deal by Pathfinder Renewable Wind Energy to supply 2.1GW for wind projects earmarked for Wyoming.

The move follows last week's announcement of the creation of the 3GW Zephyr Transmission by TransCanada. The 1000-mile line would transfer wind power generated in Wyoming to markets in the southwest of the country.

The 2.1GW to be supplied by GE is Pathfinder's allocation from the transmission project.

Other partners and allocations in the project include BP Wind Energy NA Inc. for 500 MW and Horizon Wind Energy LLC for 400 MW.
