International Power is UK-based electricity generator with projects in markets including the US, Saudi Arabia and Spain.

The Point Aux Roches wind farm will use 27 V90-1.8MW turbines, which are likely to come online in the first half of 2011. The deal includes a five-year service and maintenance agreement.

The development is being built under Ontario's feed-in tariff (FIT) program offering a guaranteed purchase price for renewable energy projects, a simplified regulatory structure and quicker action on transmission system upgrades.

This is the second deal Vestas has made this year for its V90-1.8MW turbine. In March, Vestas was appointed by WE Energies to supply 81 turbines for its Glacier Hills 145MW wind farm in Wisconsin.
