Ben Rice, Operations Engineering Manager, Pattern Energy 

Ben focuses on performance reporting and analytics for operational assets. He has been in the wind energy industry for four years, all within operations. Before joining the industry, Ben worked in the field of engineering research while earning an M.S. in Civil And Environmental Engineering and B.S. in Physics.

Yu Ding, Mike & Sugar Barnes Professor, Texas A&M University

Dr. Yu Ding is the Mike and Sugar Barnes Professor and Associate Department Head for Graduate Affairs of Industrial & Systems Engineering, a Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, and a Faculty Affiliate with Texas A&M Energy Institute and with the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences (IAMCS), all at Texas A&M University.  Dr. Ding received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan in 2001. His research interests are in the general areas of system informatics and quality and reliability engineering.  Dr. Ding currently serves as a department editor for IIE Transactions on Quality and Reliability Engineering and is a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Morten Bulow, General Manager Americas, SCADA International

15+ years industry experience. The area of responsibility has primary been focused on the WTG operation optimization, technical sales support and fleet management with SCADA data as a key requirement to decision making. Is currently heading up SCADA International in for Americas.

Richard Nichol, Product Manager, Vestas

Working in data & communications for more than 25 years, Richard has has worked for UK Ministry of Defense and later in the Wind Industry.  He is a key speaker and chair at several industry events focusing on data collaboration in the industry and how the industry can better collaborate with data sharing at all levels.  In addition, he is part of an expert committee of an IEC standard (61400-26) that represents all stakeholders in the wind industry on delivering a Wind Power Plant Availability BoP standard for calculating plant availability.  He currently works for Vestas Wind systems in Denmark, where he is employed as a Product Manager focusing on WPP control, system monitoring and grid integration.
