Renewable Energy Generation Ltd Announcement of Turbine purchase for Goonhilly Downs

04 February 2010, 3:55pm

PRESS RELEASE: Renewable Energy Generation Limited ("REG" or the "Company") (AIM: WIND), the UK renewable energy group, today announces that it has purchased six Vestas V80 2MW machines for its consented site at Goonhilly Downs in Cornwall.

The turbines are scheduled to be delivered to the site in July and the project is expected to be operational by late summer 2010.  The repowered wind farm is expected to produce approximately 30GWh of output per annum.

Commenting on developments, Andrew Whalley, Chief Executive Officer, said: "The six new turbines will almost triple output from the site, dramatically highlighting the improvements in technology made since the fourteen turbines they are replacing were installed in 1994."

The Company will be hosting a site visit for analysts and institutional investors during the final stages of the project in July.  No new material information will be disclosed and all presentations will be posted on the Company's web site at www.renewableenergygeneration.com.  More details will follow but please contact Hogarth if you are interested in attending.
