Annual Power Costs Comparison: What a difference a year can make

Cost is relative. Wind power's market viability depends on the price at which its nearest competitors - coal, gas and nuclear - can generate electricity. But even before carbon penalties are considered, fossil fuel prices are once more rising and nuclear is still stymied by the size of its economic risk. Wind power costs are stable and more likely to fall than to rise. Its risk profile and resource availability are the best in class.
