Founded in 2010, the British Photovoltaic Association (BPVA) is the National Trade Association of the UK solar photovoltaic and energy storage industries. The BPVA is a strong political and commercial organisation. Our members include companies along the entire solar PV value chain. These range from PV panel, inverter and BoS component manufacturers to installers, developers, investors and utilities. We have a growing membership base among integrators and suppliers of energy storage systems as well as innovative businesses in the field of electric vehicle (EV) charging. As an influential and trusted voice of the industry, we have made a significant contribution to the emergence of the UK’s solar PV industry in recent years, which is now one of the largest solar markets in the world by installed capacity.

Our Mission

Our mission is: “To ensure that solar photovoltaic energy is established as the leading renewable energy source in the UK and to promote UK solar internationally”. We have assisted our members in their business development in the UK and abroad, for example by organising trade delegations and participating in events in emerging markets for solar PV. The BPVA is working hard to make solar PV a mainstream and significant energy source by expanding markets, removing market barriers, strengthening the industry and educating the public on the benefits of solar energy.
