Drivetrain Component Reliability Forum And Optimisation Forum

Geislinger develops and produces torsional vibration dampers, torsional elastic, high-damping couplings, misalignment couplings, and torsional vibration monitoring systems for large diesel and gas engines. The Geislinger CompowindÒ coupling, which is unique in the field of wind power, enhances the reliability of wind turbines and protects the drivetrain by a significant reduction of non-torque loads.

Romax Technology

We work with owners, operators, manufacturers, insurers and service providers worldwide, offering turn-key solutions for drivetrain design; engineering and strategic consultancy; health management solutions and RomaxWIND drivetrain simulation software.

We have had 38 wind gearbox designs receive DNV GL Statements of Compliance (Certification) within the last four years.

6.1GW of Romax-designed wind turbine gearboxes are installed worldwide, representing an estimated 14.5 million tonnes of carbon reduction per year.  InSight software and predictive maintenance services enable 60 offshore and onshore wind farm operators to optimize operations and reduce the cost of energy. We currently monitor more than 40% of all UK offshore wind turbines.

Moventas is a wind power technology expert and service provider with 35 years of wind industry experience. Moventas’ technology strives to lower the cost of energy across the lifecycle of wind energy generation, from superior gearbox design and manufacture to extensive multi-brand service for 20 different turbine brands’ gearboxes. Moventas is part of the global engineering group Clyde Blowers. Read more at and follow us on our social media channels LinkedIN and Twitter!

Avonmore Electrical

Established in since 1958, Avonmore Electrical Co. ltd is proud to be recognized as one of the leading electromechanical repair facilities servicing the wind industry throughout Ireland and the UK. Certified as an ABB authorised repair facility whileutilizing the latest winding technology plus ABB product sales, Avonmore is currently the preferred service facility for some of the UK’s largest utilities and asset management companies.

With an unrivalled record in the repair and rewind of wind generators including the supply of associated parts, Avonmore has developed a “rewinds upgrade program” which extends the life and availability of the generator. All rewinds carry a 2 year warranty as standard.

Sentient Science

Sentient Science, a trusted third party, believes that what is best for the rotating equipment Operator is best for the OEM and Supplier. The new business model, Buy on Life?, provides the operator improved outcomes across the fleet, asset and components equal to 13% of Revenues or 1 cent per kWh. There is nothing like us. We called it DigitalCloneLive?, which is a Software as a Service (SaaS). We use “Small Data” from materials science rather than “Big Data” from sensors, to predict remaining Life and Life Extension of systems like drivetrains, powertrains and components, such as blades, bearings and oil. Seven applications targeted from the CEO, CFO, CRO to the Asset and Maintenance teams are available from three levels of future Life visibility, 0-3 months, 3 months to 5 years, and 5 years to 30 years. We monitor 24x7x365 by executing “always on” computational testing, simulating thousands of test points to accurately predict the life extension of systems and components.

Sentient Science is headquartered in the Advanced Manufacturing, Digital Rust Belt of Buffalo, NY. The invention of DigitalClone was hard. The company began R&D of DigitalClone in 2001, and after $25M of investment from the world’s largest operator the DoD & DoE, and 10 years of R&D, DigitalClone received NASA’s validation in 2010. The company went commercial in July of 2014 and, after only 18 months, 1 in 10 wind turbines in the world was contracted for DigitalClone, which was honored by the White House in 2014 with the Tibbetts Award. Today, we are rapidly growing in the energy, industrial and transportation markets. A recent $17 million TOBA Capital 1st round investment will facilitate global expansion from 15,000 wind turbines under contract to more than 50,000 rotating assets in 2016 and 1 million by 2020.
