Suzlon will supply 35 units of its S82-1.5MW wind turbine, with the project due to be completed by 2010. Under a power purchase agreement the electricity will be purchased by utility Gujurat Urja Vikas Nigam.

Gujarat is the western most state in India. The new wind farm will take the state's total wind capacity to 105MW.

The deal follows a similar order last year for Suzlon to set up a separate 19.5 MW wind farm project for the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) in Rajkot, Gujarat. The project comprised 13 Suzlon SS82-1.5 MW wind turbines.

In Suzlon's 2009 results, it revealed it had orders for 1.5GW, excluding those for Hansen and Repower.

The company has come under pressure recently following an aggressive expansion policy as has been forced to restructure some of its debt.
