The facility, scheduled for operation by the end of next year, will employ 1,000 workers and turn out 1.1GW of capacity a year. It will be the first US plant for A-Power, which entered the wind industry in 2008 and operates one of the largest turbine plants in China. Last year A-Power and US Renewable Energy announced a deal to build a 600MW wind project in Texas.
