Wind turbine tower production at America's DMI industries is rising faster than even the company had anticipated, requiring expansion of its facilities in West Fargo, North Dakota, and near Tulsa, Oklahoma. The expansions will increase capacity by 40% in West Fargo and by 100% in Tulsa. "Both facilities will begin their projects immediately," says Stefan Nilsson, DMI president. "They will be ready to accommodate 2009 and 2010 production demands." The expansion will cost about $30 million and require the employment of an additional 350 or more skilled workers. Once the factories are at full capacity, DMI says it will be the largest wind tower manufacturer in North America.
