A wind resource assessment is to be carried out in the beach state of Goa on India's west coast. Wind monitoring equipment is being installed at a number of sites by the Centre for Wind Energy Technology, based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, while the Goa Energy Development Agency will conduct the assessment. The results of the survey will help the state government formulate its renewable policy, while the data will also be used in a national wind resource atlas.
