EPCOR Utilities moves into British Columbia market

EPCOR Utilities, an Alberta-based power producer with wind projects in Alberta and Ontario, is moving into the British Columbia market as the province prepares to launch a call for 5000 GWh a year of clean power this spring. The company's wholly owned subsidiary, EPCOR Power Development (British Columbia) Limited Partnership, has initiated an environmental assessment process for its 100-200 MW Quality Wind Project near the mining town of Tumbler Ridge on the eastern fringe of the Rocky Mountains. The turbine to be used is subject to further analysis, but the company says it expects to use 60-120 machines.
