Energy minister tells BWEA conference no quick fix from nuclear

Around 460 people attended the 26th British Wind Energy Association annual conference. The event was lower key than usual, being held over just two days instead of three, in early summer rather than its habitual autumn slot, and without an exhibition, to make way for November's European Wind Energy Conference in London. Nonetheless, a wide-ranging program of high quality plenary sessions and technical workshops ensured that all the major issues were covered. The conference was preceded by a visit to North Hoyle offshore wind farm on a Sea Cat from Liverpool. It ended with the conference dinner at the Old Trafford home of Manchester United Football Club.
