British association backs out of link with marine construction lobby

The British Wind Energy Association (BWEA) has backtracked from its link-up with marine industry group Seapower after opposition to the idea from a number of BWEA's own members. "We are no longer to continue with the incorporation with Seapower," says BWEA's Marcus Rand. "But that does not mean that we are not going to expand our mission into marine renewables." Instead, BWEA will "grow" its interests in marine renewables from within, driven by the bottom-up interests of its members, he says.
