Surat Textile major, Suzlon Fibres Ltd, is behind a new company, Suzlon Energy Ltd (SEL), which has entered into a technical collaboration with Südwind GmbH of Germany for wind turbine manufacture. SEL plans to sell more than 50 turbines by March 1997. According to a statement by Tulsi Tanti, managing director of Suzlon Fibres, SEL will supply turnkey wind farms to its customers, giving them access to the 100% tax relief available for company's investing in wind power by "reducing the lead time involved in execution of the project."
