Tender closed for 1999 investment support

The Austrian environment ministry has closed its 1999 call for proposals for wind energy support. Under the government wind program, successful bidders receive up to 30% of their investment in a wind power plant from a total pool of ATS 30 million (EUR 2.2 million). In last year's round of competitive tenders, 31 projects applied for support for 56 wind turbines representing a total investment of ATS 676 million. But only five projects were chosen for support, amounting to a total of eight turbines, confirms Ulfert Höhne of the federal renewable energy association
