Coucillors refuses wind farms in Norfolk

The county of Norfolk in East Anglia has turned its back on further wind energy developments. Councillors have refused three wind farm applications in north Norfolk, although the county council has yet to agree with the local planning authority's refusal for one of the schemes -- an eight turbine wind farm at Ingham. Norfolk already has one wind farm of Vestas V27 turbines operating near Winterton-on-Sea, owned by New Generation Projects, but councillors appear reluctant to sanction any further development for fear of its visual impact on the flat Norfolk landscape. Also in East Anglia, New Generation had a further application for a five turbine project turned down at Easton Bavents in Suffolk
