Markham sells VS-45 to WindMaster

Markham has sold the rights to its 600 kW VS45 wind turbine to WindMaster Nederland BV. The sale comes after Markham's parent company, Trafalgar House, was acquired by Kvaerner ASA -- an international group registered in Norway. According Markham's Peter Bate the decision to find a buyer for the turbine was taken within Markham. Bate explains that although there had been no shortage of interest in the machine Markham was stifled by a lack of finance that prevented the company moving into serious production. WindMaster expects to make the turbine in the UK and is concentrating its search for a manufacturing site in Wales. "We want it to continue to be a British made turbine," says the firm's Chris Glen in London. Markham will be the component supplier.
